InventorCAM is a competing CAM system/plugin that is also a certified partner of autodesk, doesn't sound fair to cross them like that.įor the people that don't know this, SolidCAM is the same competing plugin as InventorCAM but for Solidworks. Now there is a bigger gap with HSMworks as well, they don't share anything in the name anymore. To run HSM under SOLIDWORKS, you would select HSMWorks.The HSM part is now gone and moved into the new name, Inventor CAM.To run HSM under Inventor, you must access your Autodesk Account, expand your Collection, select and download Inventor HSM.Supporting versions of Autodesk Inventor and/or SOLIDWORKS must be installed first and the CAD application should be launched at least once.When it comes to downloading and installing this product, it may also be a little unclear in what needs to be done. However HSMWorks only covers the SOLIDWORKS environment and you must subscribe to Product Design & Manufacturing Collection in order to receive this SOLIDWORKS benefit. HSMWorks: Designated for those who are in a mixed Autodesk Inventor and SOLIDWORKS environment. Inventor HSM: Designated solely for Inventor and you must subscribe to Product Design & Manufacturing Collection in order to receive this benefit.
